Living in the moment
In wintertime, I always go to warm places. I don’t work, blessed that I can do this. But doing nothing isn’t so easy. Living in the moment isn’t so easy. Every time I have to unwind, slow down, relax. What helps me to live in the moment is the following:
Where ever you are a lot is going on. Just watch. Could be people running around, could be the waves in the ocean. Watch and relax. Sharpen your consciousness. Be a silent observant in a fast-moving world. Take distance. Imagine and then feel that you are the center, a nice, quiet place to be.
Use your senses
Your body is always in the NOW… So use your senses. Feel your breathing going in and out. Feel your body. Really taste whatever you’re eating or drinking during the day. What are you looking at? How are you looking at it? Make your eyes soft and observe with a loving attitude. Smile and let your look be a loving touch. The world is so beautiful. Make your contribution.
Accept what you feel
When you go on holiday you take a backpack full of troubles with you. Doing nothing will fill your mind with all sorts of memories or fantasies. Could be joyful, could be painful. Accept no matter what. They’re there, don’t fight with it. Accept the thoughts, and accept possible feelings around them. Accept and let go. If you feel a judgment, embrace it and let go.
Feel the flow
Life is always in (e)motion. You should also be in the flow. Your flow. Sometimes you’re in-active, other times it’s good to be on the move. Watch your grounding. Feel your feet on the ground. Go out into nature. Don’t force anything, trust your intuition and follow your flow. If you start to feel better, even happy, then you’re on the right track.
Consciously breathe and take the breath to your heart. With every exhalation, you can relax more and more. Love yourself, and be happy with yourself. You are the best friend you will ever have. Close your eyes once and a while. Feel that you are. Alive, vibrant, loving, totally present in the NOW…
